Company Director

A graduate of the University of Sunderland's Film school, Garry has written and directed around 40 short films, music videos, test commercials and documentaries, winning several awards in the process and has several broadcast credits for his work. In 2007 he was nominated for a Royal Television Society Award and in 2009 was one of 25 film makers chosen nationally to take part in the prestigious Think-Shoot-Distribute training course as part of the Times London Film Festival. Garry has also worked on the multi award winning film ‘Jade’ which was nominated for a BAFTA in 2010.

As well as being a film maker Garry has also been an actor on many tv shows such as ‘Wire in the Blood’, ’55 Degrees North’, ‘Byker Grove’, ‘Rocketman’ ‘Inspector George Gently’ and most notably with Keira Knightly and James McAvoy in the Oscar winning film ‘Atonement’ as well as playing the title role in the multi award winning film ‘Bigboy_74’ alongside actress Jo Hartley who made her name in director Shane Meadows’ films ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’ and ‘This is England’.

Garry is currently developing a number of feature films.

Selected for Think-Shoot-Distribute – 25 film makers nationwide were selected for this industry week long course of seminars, panel discussions and meetings with film and tv producers, directors, actors, programmers, marketing executives, sales agents, casting agents and script editors.

Graded the highest ever mark attained on the MA Media Production course for his graduation film – University of Sunderland.

Distinction - Professional Broadcast Production Practice – University of Teesside.

Directors Course in Motion Picture Production – Brighton Film School.

Certificate in Screenwriting – Newcastle University.

Producers Certificate – Raindance, London.

Attended a number of screenwriting workshops with Phil Parker (Script development consultant on films such as ‘Wallace and Gromit – Curse of the Ware Rabbit’) and industry writer Wendell Thomas.
